Cost of Tattoo Removal

With people wanting to express themselves in a unique way, tattoos are becoming more and more popular amongst all ages of the population. Each community has its own reasons for tattoos. Some people get symbolic artworks added to their bodies, while others get meaningful names or dates applied. Most people never think about getting their tattoos removed, but it can happen that you get divorced, or want to get a tattoo removed as you get older. The cost of tattoo removal can be hefty and for methods such as laser surgery the 15 to 20 sessions that you may need to undergo, can cost from $200 up to $500 each. Even with this amount of sessions, certain individuals are still left with traces of the tattoo. This depends on the number of times a tattoo was reinforced over the years (more ink is added as the tattoo naturally fade), and according to how many colors have been used.

Even more distressing is the fact that the cost of tattoo removal is not covered by any insurance policies, meaning that a hundred Dollar tattoo is now costing you a few thousand Dollar to remove, out of your own pocket. Another method of tattoo removal is to use a dermabrasion technique or incision, which is offered by any dermatologist. This is not only painful, but also only works for the shallower, smaller tattoos. A very painful method, similar to dermabrasion, is salabrasion, and uses salt water with a sanding device to remove the tattoo. This is an age old technique and often leaves a scar.

For cheaper tattoo removal, you can try home remedies which will not work as quickly, but will be far cheaper and less painful than other methods. You can get tattoo creams and chemical peels that work to fade the tattoo over time by deconstructing the tissue and allowing the skin growth to speed up. This might take several weeks of continual use, but the cost implications are nominal and it is much easier as you can do it in your home. Tattoo removals are becoming more and more popular as people change their minds frequently and often people get tattoos on a whim while at a party, overseas, or as a dare. Being able to safely and cheaply remove them is key.
